The Troggs-Night Of The Long Grass (Page One 1967)
The Troggs most progressive single, yet they couldn't resist throwing in the trademark sludge riff! Cavemen till the end!

The Kult-No Home Today (CBS 1969)
Their only single. Written by Vic Maile. This is one of the high water marks of UK psychedelia!
Eric Burdon & The Animals-Year Of The Guru (MGM 1968)
from their uber-fucked up 1968 LP Every One Of Us, which never never was released in the UK. Being a leader is really where it's at, but just how long will a good thing last!

The Craig-I Must Be Mad (Fontana UK 1966)
The Craig were a Birmingham, England group who issued two singles in 1966. The group featured future Atomic Rooster/ELP drummer Carl Palmer. I Must Be Mad actually secured a USA issue on Fontana but went nowhere. Listen to the backing track on the song, it song an awful lot like I Can See For Miles by The Who, which came out a full year later. One wonders if Pete Townshend heard the Craig 45 and decided to pinch it for The Who?
Alice Cooper-Living (Straight 1969)
Living was the B-side to the group's debut 45 Reflected on Frank Zappa's Straight label. It may have been a promo only release.
Tim Buckley-Monterey (Live At The Alley 1970)
A fascinating live version of Monterey from The Alley circa 1970. The sound is a bit rough, but the overall performance is right as rain!
Bad Brains-Fearless Vampire Killers (1982)
This the only thing that I could think to follow Starbuck!
Starbuck-Moonlight Feels Right (1976) Comedy Selection Of The Day!
For anybody who wasn't around in the mid 1970's, this is a prime example of the torture us folks had to endure. This bowl of puke was a huge hit for these would be no-hopers back in 1976. The singer with the flat top cap is a total creep. Check out the satanic laugh he lets out before they go into the chorus (it's more sinister than anything Throbbing Gristle ever released!) This was Starbuck's only hit. But they did hang around long enough to issue a second album, which was called ROCK & ROLL ROCKET (I kid you not!) As bad as Starbuck were I'm still grateful for this fern-bar classic, it beats the fuck out of anything by Jay-Z (whoever that is?)
Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band-Water (Piccadilly 1966)
